BYOB (Bring your own bottle) Experience

Recently I came across these plastic free shop concept. Being environmentally friendly is one of the initiative that I am looking into.

So after much planning and consideration (the nearest plastic free shop is at Petaling Jaya, which is about 30 min drive from our home), so we decided to go to the BYOB at Petaling Jaya. (Website: https://www.byob.com.my/ )

Yesterday night I was so excited and I was clearing and washing those bottles that I have at home before I slept.

This morning, we went to the shop. It was a very small shop lot, and we can't get parking. So my husband drive around the area while we go to the shop to refill the bottles.

The shop is managed by a shopkeeper. I hand over the bottle to him, and he fills it up with the liquids I want. But the way the shopkeeper speak to us, as if I did something wrong that makes him so angry with me. I would happily gives him the "Worst Customer Service of the Year" award!

To my disappointment, they have the policy of not filling up bottle less than 1 litre. I swear that I have done my due diligence to read all the info about them online, but I was not warned about this. The cranky shopkeeper asked me to read the T&C stick on the wall.

Fine...I have brought 2 big bottles and some small bottles around 500ml to 800ml... I got my big detergent bottle and floor cleaner bottle filled and I bring back home the rest. Luckily I still brought two big bottle. Otherwise I will be going back home empty handed after the long drive and paid toll to reach that place...

I paid RM 20.18 for my laundry liquid (4.8 litre) and RM 13.64 for 3.1 litre of floor cleaner liquid.

Verdict:

Price: 4/5
Slightly cheaper than buying big brands conventionally.

Location: 2/5
Can be found on Waze. Difficult to find parking.

Service: 0/5
Please give that guy some education on how to speak to a person without offending people.
I really don't understand about why can't use bottle less than 1 litre. Since I am already here, selling another 0.5 litre woldn't hurt you right?

Overall: 1.2/5
Good cause but poor customer service. Not friendly at all. I am already putting effort in bringing my own bottles, and I still have to deal with your crankiness? If they really want customer to follow their rules, they can post it on their website or facebook. No information about their T&C online. Until I read comments from other customers from their facebook page.

Good for you if you want to go. But I will not be coming back to this shop anymore.

Below are their menu for your reference:

Din Tai Fung @ Sunway Pyramid

Hi! I would like to share our experience at Din Tai Fung @ Sunway Pyramid. Special thanks to my mom for sponsoring this meal. Din Tai Fung is actually a Taiwanese restaurant. They are famous of their Xiao Long Bao (Small steamed bun with meat fillings and soup). I have also heard that their fried rice is a must try. We have ordered two types of Xiao Long Bao, one set is original flavour, another set is the crab flavour. They have some soy sauce and chili oil as condiments The Xiao Long Bao has to be eaten with ginger and vinegar. Here comes with our Xiao Long Bao. Each of the bao is filled with minced meat and some very steamy soup. You have to really be careful of not scalding yourself. To savour them safely, you will have to make a small bite on the skin and allow the soup to flow out onto your spoon. Wait until the soup cools down a little bit before eating it. The crab flavoured Xiao Long Bao has a little twist of crab roe flavour in it. Not...

Review: Hanbing Korean Dessert Cafe

Hi! Today I would like to share my dining experience in Hanbing Korean Dessert Cafe. It was located at SS15 Courtyard, next to SS15 LRT station. The spotlight here is on their Korean style shave ice, Bingsu. However, they do serve hot food here. This is the bimbab I orderd. Somewhere around RM 15+. They call themselves "Best Bingsu in Town". I do agree with them. So far in the shave ice category, their texture and mouthfeel is the best among those I tried. Basically they are using a milk based bingsu, and they add different toppings on top. Their bingsu is very soft, smooth, and literary melts in your mouth.  Injeolmi Red Bean - Injeolmi means rice cake (the two white colour bits on top of this bingsu). The bingsu is covered with roasted soy bean flavour with a hint of red bean paste on top. (RM 24++) Blueberry snow ice - Covered with blueberries, blueberry syrup and chunks of cheesecake, this bingsu is more flavourful compared to the Injeolmi Red ...

Touch from strangers

When I was pregnant, there will be somebody that touches my baby bump without asking me consent. After my baby was born, seeing my baby being touched by strangers also doesn't feel good to me. Not only because of the germs lurking on their finger tips, I also felt disrespect as the person is invading our personal space and boundaries. Unwanted touching is always inappropriate, and it is a difficult and awkward to reject touch from a stranger. Most of the time it happened so fast that the person was gone before I could react. I know this word might sound heavy, but sometime I do felt "harassed". Of course, I can do my part to stop people to touch my baby. Like telling off strangers to stay away, putting up "NO touching" signs, and putting up mosquito net to create a barrier. Doing these is effective, but awkward as well. It will be great that if everyone could educate themselves about respecting people's space and boundaries, especially for baby b...
