Haraju-Cube SS15 - Courtyard

Today I celebrated my colleague's birthday at Haraju-cube SS15.

I was a bit skeptical at first because my previous experience of having hot meals at cafes are not good. However this meal had refreshed my perception.

Curry rice with Chicken Katsu (RM 19).

Very flavourful Japanese curry. Chicken cutlets are deep fried to perfection.

Omu Rice Chicken Teriyaki (RM 19)

Below the blanket of omelette is tomato flavoured fried rice. The omelette is topped with creamy Japanese mayonnaise and some dried herbs. The omelette was so creamy it melts in my mouth. The star of this dish is really the omelette. Comparatively, the teriyaki chicken loose it's shine and became a ordinary cooked teriyaki chicken. Salad is dressed with refreshing light soy sauce.

Smoked Duck Spaghetti (RM 18)\

Smoked duck on top of slightly spicy aglio olio spaghetti.

The meal also come with one drink of choice.

Passion fruit tea

Grape tea

Green tea is serve with this cute little pot.

The portion is just right that you will be left with appetite for the dessert, which is their specialty, Shibuya Honey Toast.

We ordered the Fruitition cube (RM 28). We have informed the server that we are celebrating birthday. It was thoughtfully decorated with the Happy birthday sign and candle.

As you can see on the picture above, the cube is covered with a hard outside crunch. It is hard to cut. However its gives a crunchy mouthfeel, which is slightly on the hard side. Considered acceptable. The toast piece is toasted with butter. crunchy outside and soft in the core. The toast were cut into bite size. The toast pieces were topped with cream, strawberry, blueberry, raspberry and ice-cream.

They also provided one bottle of honey to garnish as your liking.

Verdict:

Taste: 4/5
I am very surprise that their main meal is very delicious. However the toast is overrated.

Price: 3.5/5
A bit on the high side. Comes with 6% Service Tax and 10% Service Charge.

Ambiance: 4/5
Brightly decorated. During our visit, the shop is not pack with customer. Comfortable for business talk, chit-chat and celebration.

Service: 4/5
Good service. Waited quite some time for the Omu Rice to serve. But the dish is worth the wait.

Overall: 3.9/5
Definitely will come back for their Omu Rice.

Below is the menu of Haraju-Cube SS 15.

Din Tai Fung @ Sunway Pyramid

Hi! I would like to share our experience at Din Tai Fung @ Sunway Pyramid. Special thanks to my mom for sponsoring this meal. Din Tai Fung is actually a Taiwanese restaurant. They are famous of their Xiao Long Bao (Small steamed bun with meat fillings and soup). I have also heard that their fried rice is a must try. We have ordered two types of Xiao Long Bao, one set is original flavour, another set is the crab flavour. They have some soy sauce and chili oil as condiments The Xiao Long Bao has to be eaten with ginger and vinegar. Here comes with our Xiao Long Bao. Each of the bao is filled with minced meat and some very steamy soup. You have to really be careful of not scalding yourself. To savour them safely, you will have to make a small bite on the skin and allow the soup to flow out onto your spoon. Wait until the soup cools down a little bit before eating it. The crab flavoured Xiao Long Bao has a little twist of crab roe flavour in it. Not...

Review: Hanbing Korean Dessert Cafe

Hi! Today I would like to share my dining experience in Hanbing Korean Dessert Cafe. It was located at SS15 Courtyard, next to SS15 LRT station. The spotlight here is on their Korean style shave ice, Bingsu. However, they do serve hot food here. This is the bimbab I orderd. Somewhere around RM 15+. They call themselves "Best Bingsu in Town". I do agree with them. So far in the shave ice category, their texture and mouthfeel is the best among those I tried. Basically they are using a milk based bingsu, and they add different toppings on top. Their bingsu is very soft, smooth, and literary melts in your mouth.  Injeolmi Red Bean - Injeolmi means rice cake (the two white colour bits on top of this bingsu). The bingsu is covered with roasted soy bean flavour with a hint of red bean paste on top. (RM 24++) Blueberry snow ice - Covered with blueberries, blueberry syrup and chunks of cheesecake, this bingsu is more flavourful compared to the Injeolmi Red ...

Why I Choose to Give Cheap Milk Powder

Milk is the only thing baby can drink for the first 6 months of life. For a balanced nutrition, parents will usually provide milk to their child until at least 6 years old as a supplement to solid food. If you are able to provide breast milk to your baby, Congratulations! You are a lucky mom! Not only you save tons of money, you also get to have the unique bonding experience with your baby. For myself, I am not able to provide breast milk, thus my baby is depend on milk powder. At first we provided her with a premium brand, Morinaga. But her weight gain was not ideal. Our pediatrician advise us to change to other brands. Thus we started our search for the best milk for her. We tried almost all branded milk samples in the market provided by our pediatrician's clinic (all brands are priced at more than RM 70 per kg at the time of writing). The most expensive one is Pediasure, around RM 80 for 850g pack, and she is not drinking as much as the recommended volume. ...
